Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 19, 2026
Introduction
Biblicast ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Biblicast mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
By using Biblicast, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access or use the Service.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we may collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in via a third-party provider (e.g., Google or Apple), we receive basic profile information as authorized by you.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages or chapters viewed, features used (such as Bible chat, audio playback, and reading plans), and general usage patterns. This helps us improve the app experience.
User-Generated Content
Content you create within Biblicast — including highlights, notes, bookmarks, and Bible chat conversations — is stored securely to provide the Service. This content is private to your account.
Device Information
We may collect device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and crash/diagnostic data to maintain and improve the Service.
Purchase Information
If you subscribe to Biblicast Premium, payment processing is handled by Apple (App Store), Google (Play Store), or our payment partner RevenueCat. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details. We receive subscription status and transaction identifiers to manage your account.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the Service — including syncing your highlights, notes, and reading progress across devices.
- Power AI features — your Bible chat prompts are sent to our AI providers to generate responses. We do not use your conversations to train AI models.
- Manage your account and subscriptions — including credit balances and premium status.
- Improve the Service — we analyze aggregated, anonymized usage data to understand how people use Biblicast and where we can improve.
- Send service communications — such as password resets, account notices, and important updates. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
- Ensure security — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers — trusted third parties that help us operate the Service (e.g., Firebase for infrastructure, RevenueCat for subscriptions, AI providers for chat features). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, regulation, or legal process, we may disclose your information to comply with applicable obligations.
- Safety — to protect the rights, safety, or property of Biblicast, our users, or the public.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Google Cloud Platform and Firebase. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent for data processing.
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@biblicast.app.
Children's Privacy
Biblicast is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Third-Party Services
Biblicast integrates with third-party services to provide functionality. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, analytics, and hosting.
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management.
- Google Analytics — aggregated usage analytics.
- AI Providers — to power Bible chat and content generation features.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
